During the first year of operation, 10 students at the school level were selected. This was the first batch of students supported by Aksharam. A total of Rs. 16711 was disbursed.

1999

In 1999, the number of students supported by Aksharam increased to 11. Of this 7 were at the school level and 4 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (1) and Engineering (3). A total of Rs. 28,139 was disbursed.

2000

In 2000, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 39. There were 18 students at the school level and 21 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (6), Science (7) and Engineering (8). A total of Rs. 205,238 was disbursed. 2001

In 2001, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 72. There were 26 students at the school level and 46 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (13), Science (10) and Engineering (23). A total of Rs. 332,268 was disbursed.

2002

In 2002, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 51. There were 3 students at the school level and 48 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (11), Science (11), Engineering (20), Medicine (1) and Vocational Training (5). A total of Rs. 303,051 was disbursed.

In 2003, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 66. There were 13 students at the school level and 53 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (11), Science (12), Engineering (22), Medicine (1) and Vocational Training (7). A total of Rs. 289,658 was disbursed.

In 2004, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 104. There were 12 students at the school level and 92 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (26), Science (27), Engineering (23), Medicine (2) and Vocational Training (14). A total of Rs. 623,118 was disbursed.

In 2005, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 83. There were 4 students at the school level and 79 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (17), Science (40), Engineering (13), Medicine (1) and Vocational Training (8). A total of Rs. 466, 287 was disbursed.

In 2006, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 61. There were 13 students at the school level and 48 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (16), Science (24), Engineering (3) and Vocational Training (5). A total of Rs. 316, 570 was disbursed.

In 2007, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 167. There were 57 students at the school level and 110 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (24), Science (55), Engineering (9), Management Studies (5), Medicine (1), and Vocational Training (16). A total of Rs. 700,527 was disbursed.

In 2008, the number of students supported by Aksharam was 104. There were 8 students at the school leveland 96 were at the collegiate level pursuing degrees in the Arts (21), Science (37), Engineering (4), Management Studies (3), and Vocational Training (31). A total of Rs. 425,968 was disbursed.
